Media(Below) my basic robot code, the robot code I taught at my zoom lesson (Above) Robot with new reinforcement design (Below) Before reinforcements vs. After reinforcements
(Above) Notice the effect of reinforcements on the leg-- notice how on the left, the wooden stick is able to move independently of the servo horn, whereas on the right they move more together.

MediaTimelineImportant timeline update: Because of the unforeseen changes due to the Coronavirus, I have changed my timeline entirely. I have also revised the style of the timeline. Because we are unsure of how things will progress, some things are still up in the air at this point.
You can see live updates to the timeline at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1P92MBvN_Rl6eKSNCrrQZ5prob09qnPaznaUyf_nyQlw/edit?usp=sharing Completed: January✓ 01/05-01/07: Research for project ✓ 01/07: Order materials for robot (except for fasteners) ✓ 01/10: Write code for servo ✓ 01/11: Turn one servo ✓ 01/13: Rotate two servos (design one leg) ✓ 01/16: Pitch ✓ 01/27: Proposal ✓ 01/28: Curriculum for AI workshop designed ✓ 01/28: Weebly Launched ✓ 01/29: Began advertising for first AI workshop ✓ 01/29: Dates proposed for next AI project ✓ 01/30: Grant proposal February ✓ 02/06: PSU#1 ✓ 02/08: Email Ms. Hemiup about 3D printing ✓ 02/10: Research potential mentors ✓ 02/12: Find out about CAD Computer ✓ 02/14: Controlling 8 servos at once ✓ 02/15 : Assembling the leg ✓ 02/16 : Making the leg move Personal update: March 18, 2020 (See Distance Learning #1 Post for more info) It's been extremely difficult to keep up with classes, and particularly my senior project. Because both my parents are healthcare professionals, they've been very busy and I'm trying to help around the house where I can, including making lunch and meal planning. I have an essay, math HW that takes me at least 3 hours usually, two midterms due on Friday, and a unit of chemistry HW to do. I have hardly made any progress on my senior project in the last 2 weeks; last week I was preparing for the robotics competition and working every night until 2AM on some required robotics pieces, and although the school cancelled our trip, we led an independent trip and went ourselves. And then after the event had already started, the organization cancelled the rest of the season. Also, after preparing my lesson plans and working hard to arrange with the library about what to do for my lessons that I would be teaching the kids, the library of course cancelled all 5 of my planned workshops in the next 2 months. NOTE: In this update, major changes to the project were made. Currently Working on: March 03/25: Full body “prototype” assembled 03/25: Reach out to mentor to schedule first meeting 03/27: Draft interview questions 03/30: Date for Zoom lesson proposed 03/30: Bootcamp computer To-Do March 03/27: See robot walk for first time! 03/30: Email second interview candidate https://docs.google.com/document/d/1I_pavcK5CcoPboTSQS8L2voi1ud5HIq3OYKW-z_o59o/edit?usp=sharing April 04/02: Install SolidWorks 04/30: Complete spider CAD May CAD Simulation?? Project ChangesAlthough our school is scheduled to return after Spring Break, I am anticipating for our school to be cancelled for the rest of the year.
